On Monday, Facebook announced a redesign of its Photos section.
The update was scheduled to be rolled out to Facebook users over the course of a few days, so you should be able to see the update by now. If not, give it a day or two.
Once the update reaches you, clicking Photos at the top of your timeline, will display larger pictures that completely fill up the Photos page. It’s a more interesting and visually appealing view.
At the top of the page, there are three menus: Photos of You is the default view and shows photos you’ve been tagged in; Photos shows you the pictures you’ve shared but aren’t tagged in; Albums, not surprisingly, shows you the photo albums you’ve created.
But the most fun feature of the update is that you can now make your favorite photos much larger than the others.
Simply scroll through your photos, hover your mouse over your favorites, and click the Highlight star icon in the upper-right corner of the photo (see screenshot to the right). The photos you highlight will be enlarged to 4x the size of non-highlighted pictures.
It’s a nice easy way to showcase your best photography or the people and places that are most special to you.
Let us know how you like it.
