New EarthLink 4G Internet Service
You probably can’t imagine being without high-speed Internet access at home.
But with your busy mobile life, you probably wish you had that same broadband Internet on the go.
When you’re out and about and need to connect, sometimes you get lucky and find an open Wi-Fi hotspot without wasting too much time. Often you’re out of luck.
Our new EarthLink 4G Internet On-the-Go service can offer you super-fast wireless Internet access on up to 8 laptops, tablets, or smartphones – with no public Wi-Fi hotspots needed. The convenient, mobile broadband service keeps the Internet with you, letting you connect across town and across the U.S.
Our most affordable plan is just $29.95 a month and gives you mobile Internet connections at speeds up to 3Mbps. For just $20 more, you can get double the speed and double the monthly data allowance. Plus, there’s no term commitment, so it’s easy to try without worrying about being locked in.
How does it work?
You simply carry a tiny 4G mobile hotspot with you. And when we say it’s tiny, we mean it: The 4G mobile hotspot fits in the palm of your hand, can easily be slipped into your jacket pocket or purse, and weighs just 2 ounces. So it really is convenient. And with a battery life of up to 6 hours, you can count on the connection being there for you throughout your busy day.
Whenever you are in range of our nationwide network of 4G towers, your hotspot will broadcast a Wi-Fi signal that gives all of your mobile devices a broadband connection to the Internet. So, for example, when you take the whole family to the park, with laptops, tablets, smartphones, or other Internet-ready devices, everybody can get online simultaneously (unless you’re a family of 9). It can be extremely helpful on business trips, too.
Where does it work?
Our 4G Internet coverage is available across the U.S., but it’s not available everywhere. It is available in most major cities (sorry Phoenix) in 29 states.
An abbreviated list of the more than 80 cities with EarthLink 4G wireless coverage includes Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego in California; New York City, Syracuse and Rochester in New York; Dallas, Houston and San Antonio in Texas; Miami, Orlando and Tampa in Florida; Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg in Pennsylvania; Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus in Ohio; Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh in North Carolina; plus Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Washington D.C., and many more.
You also need to be within range of a 4G tower and some metropolitan areas have more extensive coverage areas than others. The good news is that it’s easy to check your wireless coverage before you buy. And we strongly recommend that you do check for 4G coverage in the areas you expect to use the service most. After all, we want our 4G service to work for you and make your life simpler and more enjoyable.
How do I check for coverage?
To check for coverage, go to the 4G Internet On-the-Go page on our website. Click the See Coverage Map button on the right side of the page. You’ll see a U.S. map with orange circles representing the cities that have 4G Internet coverage. Below the map, you’ll also see a complete list of states and cities with 4G coverage. This can tell you right away if we don’t have coverage in your area. To confirm 4G coverage within your city (or another city you know you’ll visit a lot), enter an address, city or zip code into the field above the map, and click the Check Availability button. Enter multiple addresses or zip codes if you want to make sure it’s available in other places you go.
What else do I get?
Our wireless 4G Internet service comes with the same additional benefits as our other high-speed Internet services like DSL or Cable Internet: 8 email addresses with 100MB storage, Web Mail access, automatic spam and virus protection, Protection Control Center security software, an online account portal, and 24/7 support by phone, chat or web.
