Internet Businesses – Customer Satisfaction Scores

Internet companies - portals & search engines - customer satisfaction scores -

A couple of days ago, the American Customer Satisfaction Index released its latest customer satisfaction scores for Internet businesses. (The Internet companies, for some reason, did not include Internet service providers, so EarthLink isn’t represented.)

In the Internet News & Information category, received the higest score (84) and the received the lowest score (69). Most of the other news sites were bunched up with scores in the mid-70s.

For Internet Portals & Search Engines, most people wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Google was the top-rated company with a score of 82.

What may surprise some is how close the ratings were in this category. Microsoft’s relatively new search engine Bing was just one point back with an 81, followed by at 80.

The Internet Social Media category may be the most surprising because it had the widest range of scores and some very big names with very low scores.

Collaborative encyclopedia Wikipedia and the relatively new Google + social network came out on top with scores of 78 each. Social network giant Facebook was at the back of the pack with a score of just 61. LinkedIn didn’t fare much better with a score of 63.

Consumers are obviously looking for more from this category.
